Rob Janssen Bouwmeester, Architectenbureau No Label:
“We deliberately chose Platowood for its sustainable and circular qualities. The Poplar version has a warm color and an exceptionally charming and friendly appearance. The cladding was installed in three different widths in a random pattern, creating a playful variation in scale and proportion—perfectly suited to the building’s young audience. The façade elements connect seamlessly to the ceiling cladding under the eaves, which is also done in Platowood Poplar. A beautiful and sustainable end result.”
KDV Pinkeltje is a self-sufficient, net-zero energy building. In addition to sustainability and circularity, the client requested a structure with a robust yet warm and atmospheric appearance. The choice for Platowood Poplar, a sustainable and aesthetic wood, was therefore a natural fit.
