In De Nieuwe Stad in Amersfoort, a new “platform” has taken shape—a sustainable building designed by Schipper Bosch and Space Encounters. The untreated Platowood Fraké used for the project aligns perfectly with the client’s sustainability goals.
The design fosters a strong connection between inside and outside, blending old and new elements into a cohesive whole. Construction company Van Bekkum took on the challenge of building a floating structure above an existing building.
The choice for Platowood Fraké not only complements the current “indoor-outdoor” approach but also fits well with the client’s future development plans because of the natural weathering process!
