Platowood Fraké doors and frames for cabins at nature campsite

Het Bos Roept! is a dynamic nature campsite in North Holland, surrounded by the Robbenoord Forest. It’s a campground where nature leads — and always will. Sustainability and circular construction are key principles. Everything built on the site is bio-based and suitable for reuse. Rainwater is collected, and solar boilers are used to heat water.

The campsite is open year-round, allowing visitors to experience each season up close. Guests can camp with a tent, caravan, or camper, or rent a fully furnished tipi or cabin.

All doors and frames of the Warthog Family and La Serre holiday cabins are made from Platowood Fraké. Gidus Hopmans, co-owner of Het Bos Roept! and also the designer of the cabins, explains:
“Circular construction is essential on our site. We looked for window frames that didn’t need any finishing, so required no maintenance, and were sustainably produced. That led us to modified frame wood. We requested reference projects from Platowood and ultimately chose Platowood Fraké frames. The frames require no maintenance, which prevents a lot of waste, and they will naturally weather beautifully.”
