Some projects require wood with a Euro Fire Class B-S2,D0. Since wood originally doesn’t meet these requirements we’ve developed ‘Platowood FireProtect’. We impregnate the platonised wood by sealing it with fire-retardant salts in such a way that it meets this fire class.

Impregnation takes place based on fire-retardant salts that are pressed into the wood. These salts must be locked into the wood by means of a sealer. This sealer can be transparent, but it can also have any colour from our Platowood Colour range. If certain parts of a project need to be impregnated with a fire-retardant while other parts don’t, we can provide the two different facades with the exact same colour. This is extraordinary, because wood that is treated with a fire-retardant normally has a darker look.
